Transitions and Missionary Positions.

hey folks, just checkin in with all y'all....i'm currently sitting in the rehearsal studio with the guys, rounding out the last of this record, and so far so good. We're finishing up the last of "The Empathic Communicator". Since it's divided into 4 parts: Part 2 is on deck. And it's turning out to be more intense than I imagined. It's got everyone's favorite: BLASTBEATTTTSSSS!! YAYYYY. But we're definetley incorporating a lot of our progressive 70's rock roots. Giving it a little more heartfelt vibe. It's one of the riffiest songs we have to date....riffiest....I don't think that word exists or is politically correct for that matter...But, that's not really important by any means. We've been here for a few hours, I'm starting to become slightly delirious, mainly from this droning noise that Wes is making on drums, or it could be from these transitional ideas I need to cook up, having a million riffs and finding a way to make them seemingly cohesive is quite a task, the musicians reading this will know exactly what i'm talking about. Speaking of musicians, this studio we're rehearsing at has all sorts of interesting characters in it. It's in the heart of Oakland, California. But quite a few bands practice down the hall, such as: AFI, Dredg, Butthole Surfers, High On Fire, Machine Head, yadda yadda. Name dropping is fun (you like that pun there?) Anyway, i'm gonna stop typing and start working. K? k
